Our U6 kids attended Hurling Go Games up in Lamh Dhearg last Saturday. The progress these children have made did not go unnoticed with plenty of skill and ability on show, a credit to themselves for all the hard work they put in at training. Thank you to all the parents who support us on a weekly basis. Your support is very much appreciated.We also had the opportunity to promote and support Lamh Dhearg’s midnight sponsored walk to help raise funds for Suicide Awareness. A very worthy cause indeed.
The Under 8 hurling team participated in Go Games at Sarsfields 3G pitches on Saturday morning. The first round of games were against Sarsfields, Brid Og, St Pauls and St Endas. All games were very competitive with skill and determination on show from all the kids with 3 wins and one loss the end result.
The second round of games we had a second group of kids play the same oppositions with the exclusion of St. Paul’s. Once again our kids showed great skill and were rewarded with 2 wins and 1 loss. A great performance all around.
All the kids were excellent and done the club proud producing some excellent hurling during these games. The overall development within this group is really starting to show with all of the kids becoming more confident and demonstrating new skills in each game they participate in. Well done to the kids, mentors and parents. Keep up the good work.
On Saturday the U10 hurlers were in action at two venues with one team playing in Magherafelt and the other team lining out against Loch Mor Gais.
Our team in Magherafelt were pitted against various teams throughout Ulster and played to an exceptionally high standard coming away with 5 wins from their 5 matches. The game against Loch Mór Gais was played again with skill and determination with Davitts coming away with the victory.
The U12 hurlers hosted Rossa on Sunday morning and what a game that turned out to be. Two very determined teams put on a show of hurling for the large support in attendance. The level of skill on show from both teams was beyond their years! Credit to the kids and mentors of this group who are progressing well. Keep it going lads!
